Multimedia Filters
It uses a bed of sand, peat, shredded tires, form, crushed glass, geo-textile fabric, anthracite, crushed granite or other materials to filter water. It is used to reduce the level of suspended solids in incoming feed water. Suspended solids consist of small particles such as clit, clay, grit, algae, organic matter & microorganisms. Incoming feed water that is high in suspended solids can cause a high pressure drop and reduce the effectiveness of downstream filtration equipment such as reverse osmosis membranes and ion exchange beds. The areas of application are for domestic purposes (drinking, cooking bathing etc.), swimming pools, aquaculture, irrigation, storm water management, oil & gas operations, etc.
